Sorry for the 'bump', but the scaffolding appears to be beginning to go back up again - I'm sure this wasn't like this a week or two ago: Click for full sizeAnyone know anything?

I too have noticed some scaffolding has been re-erected... not sure why..
On another note the 'other' paltform canopies on the west end of the platforms (that cover the areas of the platform not underneath the glass roof) are in a disgraceful state! They leak very very badly. They should have extended the old roof to cover the whole length of the platforms it would have looked much nicer !

I was on a visit to the station control room the other week and was told the hoardings are for some benches which are going to be put back in (th old listed ones that is)

AFAIK the Earl's Court roof is the only example of its type in Europe and I believe it is a listed structure so extending it would not have been an option. As it is, it is in fact a self extending structure. IIRC it can expand in length by some three feet or so during the hottest weather and this expansion is catered for by one end of the roof running on rails!
