Going back to s stock trains at Putney Bridge i cant see how any of these trains could use this station in its present state. Platform 1 (east) and platform 2 (bay) are sitting on top of arches with the whole track infrastructure to platform 3 (west) held up by exposed steel pillars underneath.
The bay can only take c stock trains and platform 3 can only just fit in d stock trains. There is a word war gun turret just west of platforms 2+3 and if its listed then i doubt they could extend the platforms down there. However they decide to extend the platforms at this station it is going to cost £millions.
They have just spent zillions on a botched refurb at this station. Yet there are no lifts, no escalators, not enough gates in the ticket hall, the station leaks like a sieve at the first sign of rain. The new paintwork is peeling of fast and the new tiles on the floor wont clean. The ss office has all the latest technical gadgets which brakes down on a regular basis. The veids (dot matrix in old money) are always giving out the wrong destinations if they are working at all.
Seems to me the best thing they could do with this station is bring the bulldozers in and start again from scratch.
