Just thought I'd let everyone know that there will be another pocket map released in 2 weeks time dated June 2008. Weird that there won't be a poster map too ?
I heard that the next pocket and poster map release after that will be in October, that should be the last for this year.... hopefully !!!!!
Does anyone else know more about this ?

Thanks, I'm not sure that LUL are capable of planning that far ahead anymore, after all, there have been six maps in six months.
Six maps in six months? How did I work that one out then?
November 2007 January 2008 February 2008 March 2008 March 2008 second print run April 2008
Two print runs in March, the early one had a couple of extraneous blue lines on the map that follow the creases, on the later one these vanish and some Bank warnings are added to the key.
Shame they don't use print codes anymore.

Six maps in six monthsquote] There will probably be a lot of new maps in a few years time, with all the Overground and DLR extensions. TfL might release new maps all the time, but maps in some main line trains still have maps that were made before the DLR London City Airport extension was built. London Midland's class 321/4s have these old maps in them.

London Midland's class 321/4s have these old maps in them. There's a little one of these in the ticket hall at Tottenham Court Road by the entrance to the staircase.

The new pocket map dated May is now out at the stations. Has anyone seen the May poster version that goes along with this. There wasn't supposed to be one, looks like TfL changed there minds !!!

The May 2008 pocket Map is starting to slowly appear at stations.
The only differences to the April 2008 edition are: - "Mayor Of LONDON" is now in all blue on both sides - OAKWOOD gets it's wheelchair symbol back, (erroneously removed from April Map?)
Yet more errors occur! - in the bottom right corner of the map side it states "Correct at time of going to print. May 2008". However just underneath the "explanation of symbols" it says "Correct at time of going to print. April 2008". !!! (one side printed April, the other side May i guess?!?!)
A poster version is yet to be seen.

Correctly removed! I'm sure I've mentioned this elsewhere; it was installed and ready for service near the beginning of the year, so the wheelchair symbol was added. Unfortunately they couldn't actually bring it into service due to a dispute between Tubelines and TfL over a few things, and since this wasn't resolved quickly, it was removed again, presumably to avoid misleading people. Of course, not long after the maps with the symbol removed were issued, the dispute was resolved and the lift finally entered service...

does the latest map show Tower Gateway as closed or does it warn of future closure? Is there a note about the DLR Lewisham branch works?

As i said, it is unchanged from the April edition with the exception of the two points raised. Tower Gateway is still shown thus: "closed 28 June 2008 until Spring 2009". There is no mention of the Lewisham reductions.

The new May poster map has appeared on the TfL webpage this morning, but it doesn't look like the standard poster map that is usually displayed at the stations ?
Are the May poster maps at the station showing the IKEA sponsorship and the station names at the bottom ? If so this web map is a hybrid of the pocket / poster maps.
The map has the correct MAYOR OF LONDON symbol in all blue but the border has it shown in Blue and red in the old style. Look'S like TfL can't get anything right !!!

Apparently there isn't going to be a paper poster version for the May map. There is only the web update.

Took another look today on the offchance. The online map is still dated may but has been adjusted slightly, "Mayor of London" in blue and red has been deleted from the map.

So is there actually a "June 2008" pocket map, and can they be seen in the wild anywhere?

If they exist in the wild they hadn't made it to Tottenham Hale as of a few days ago.

Dated May but issued late June. Perhaps they should go back to the old system if getting the month right causes trouble: No. 1, 2008, No 2, 2008 etc.
Pocket maps seem currently to have reached No 6, 2008.
