Why do some LU trains have a white dot next to the car numbers on the cab ends? I've noticed this on A and D stock?

I believe the dot indicates that the unit is a de-icing unit.

And an indication that such cars equipment is switched on, is also identifiable by a blue light on that car.

As 73TS don't have numbers on the ends, where did they put the blue dot? On the side of the train there is a car number by the cab doors.
