My ticket arrived this weekend for the 11am run. Interestingly, they are very specific about not eating food and sitting very carefully on the seats as it is a museum piece. On the last run, people were walking around and several people pulled out a newspaper to read or munched on snacks. After all, it is a long trip to just sit there and do nothing. I may bring a glass of wine

People were moving about chatting to other nerds, sorry enthusiasts! As for the food, totally agree with LU, food could get dropped onto the seats, and cause problems. You are allowed bring a small bottle of water with you. As for the newspapers, I cant see the problem, so long as the reader takes it with them after the tour.

I also agree about not taking food onto the 38 unit.
Bring a newspaper? Why do that when you have paid good money to be on the train!

Appologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere (I thought it had but I can't find it - cue Colin). Forum users may like to know the Museums 1938 stock train is booked to run a few trips over the Northern Line on 29/6/08 to mark the 70th anniversary of the type to the Northern. Morden - High Barnet - Morden, via Bank, non-stop. departures from Morden at 1100, 1430 & 1800. tickets, must be pre-booked, £15 per trip. As I understand it, the 1800 trip is free for staff.

The 1800 trip is free to staff, but non staff can do the trip for £15.

There's a train from the year 1800 as well?

Just read a bulletin at work, all three trips are now fully booked.
Dont forget tickets are being sent out by mid June at the latest, so dont panic if you have not received them yet.

We were mulling over having a low-key meet in Morden (at last weekend's meet) either side of the 1430 run.......
edit: angelislington tells me that our tickets are now at her pad. ;D

*I* get post on a Sunday. Admittedly it involves a a statutory company other than the RM and another stamp/franking.

I have heard that as all the tickets are sold, and the trips proved popular, there are 20 people on a waiting list.

Hmmm, good photos will depend on the sun being in for NB trips. At least there's still some uncaged footbridges on the Barnet branch. A lot better for photography than on the Edgware Line.

I may, or may not, be at West Finchley. If I'm not building barns, I'll be about. Wave if you see me
