Does the Queen know what it is? Hurrah for the Hampstead Tube, here's hoping it's behaving itself when I go to work later .........

Ooh, Northern line sa are we?
Just had LU ring me, saying they are going to send my tickets [for the Golders open day] to my control room, good, that I am going there later, to meet up with a few mates and go to the pub.
Telegram? That would be nice!

Ahh, ok!
Sadly I wont be doing the Northern stations today, if anyone passes through one which is participating in the centenary [Archway, Chalk Farm, Euston, and a few others] please let me know what happened. As far as I know it is staff in period costume, handing out chocolate coins, and a few posters on display.
LU could have done more, even printing souvenir tickets, maps wouldn't have been a headache to arrange.

I go through Euston, and am working late turn today, middle tomorrow, off Sunday (and would have loved to go on the 38 stock but unfortunately have a small child's birthday party to hold - the joys!). So I'll let you know what I see!

Finished pithering around after popping into work - think I'm heading off to the pub to have a couple of sherbets with angelislington to toast the Hampstead tube. ;D ;D

Perhaps we could arrange to meet up somewhere in Golders Green Station a while before the train is due, that way we can put faces to names etc. Just a thought nevertheless.
Cheers, ~ Matloughe

Did anyone else get their selection of goodies today? I think everyone who works for the Northern Line is getting them - a watch and mug in a box, a DVD on the history of the Northern line, a book on the 1st 30 years of the Hampstead Tube and a cake (which wasn't very nice).

Cheers, ~ Matloughe Excellent idea Matloughe. Never been to Golders Green station before but perhaps meet where the entrance to platform 3 is say half an hour before departure. By the way, I'm on the 14.30 but will be there to video the 11.00 departure. Darren.

I went to Golders Green today for the staff open day. The 38 was there and in beautiful condition. Since I drove 38s for years, I'm not bothering with the trip on it tomorrow but I think all you who are going will have a great time. Enjoy!

I'll be at Golders Green early for the 11am tour, i'll have a DD forum badge on and no doubt a camera bag as well, so if anyone wants to say hi i'll be looking lost and bewildered.
Cheers, ~ Matloughe

Do we have any concrete ideas for a pub or similar yet?
I'm on the 1430, and expect to be there at least30 mins early. I recognise at least a few people intending to be on that train, and expect that they also recognise me.
I'm contemplating going to Golder's Green for 11, and then over to East Finchley for the obvious archer shot. Assuming that we're not competing for photographs it would make things more interesting if some of us were to travel together, assuming that we have enough time left to organise it.

I'll be getting some photos at various locations on the pm tour, as I am travelling on the 1100 train. After the tour, I may be a little dry, so hopefully there will be a decent pub for a quick pint before I head off to photograph the 1430 tour. David

Does anyone know where the post (can't remember the author) with rough timings went? I think it may have been in the chat thread and hence be lost in the ether.

Agree, twas a great day, I did the two public runs, contemplated the staff run, but was too tired.
Nice demo of the Westinghouse at.........Leicester Square was it?
Due to travelling on two runs, I received two books, I will be doing a one question quiz [Northern line related of course] with the fastest correct poster winning the book. Details soon.
No ghosts in Kennington loop, no! ;D
