Is Tube map getting worse?

Poor Beck ! What presumably started out as a hobby - redesigning the Underground Map - was taken out of his control when it achieved success and was accepted by the U-D for display. He then had to endeavour to incorporate all the, sometimes, stupid alterations demanded. He resumed to becoming a 'draughtsman' for the Advertising Department but he was not able to relinquish his emotional attachment to his creation.

The present day map still shows his artistic input but has become overloaded with 'information'.
