I can guarantee you will be by the end of the week. Well Wayne, it's the end of the week and I don't feel trained! ;D I blame the DMT's. VJ was not impressed with the lack of bodies beng sent. ;D

Does anything impress VJ? ;D ;D The crazy sickness level at Earls Court can't be helping matters........... BTW, I did my connect stuff as part of the block training back in April (19th to be precise) - am I covered by the usual six month 'thing'? or will I get some sort of refresher?

I don't know, you drivers. Friday I received my Connect Familiarisation and, even if it takes another 5 years, that's about all we're getting. Some of our grade have managed to get a second helping, but that's mainly due to luck rather than judgment. I sincerely hope that they don't make the use of the system yet another licencing headache just to keep someone in a job somewhere. I mean, we don't currently possess a licence to operate the telephone do we.

Can someone who has had this training/familiarisation/certification tell what it's all about? Is it so complex that the fear of the knowledge getting rusty is justified? If the training is only 'valid' six months it must be rocket science. ;D

It's not about the 'content', it's about Union agreements, LUL policy and training standards. We have been told that Connect training is only valid for six months - if we are not using the equipment by then, we must be re-trained. Incidently, a certain instructor operator (for those who know him, the Acton one with a similar name to the 'on the buses' inspector) tells me that the District is highly likely to miss the October start date ................

I forgot to mention - I had my refresher for Connect last week. Basically it will 'go live' on the 12th regardless of what is in place. There may be one D stock using the system or there may be 2, or even three D stock's ;D Drivers will not initially be issued with personal hand helds - that will happen once the C stocks are converted.........some six to eight weeks later AIUI. Many of the features will not be available - in particular the signal operators will not be 'on board'. It will start off as just the basic radio we have now but used in a different manner. So now it's just a case of waiting for the fun to commence ;D ;D ;D

Not sure why it was made an announcement - so I've removed the announcement status for now at least

It's supposed to be introduced this week. Anyone any info on the progress? Is it indeed delayed?

Vengeance! Was the "faulty communications equipment" originally only on the District and did it snowball to the H&C and Circle lines? Because all three suffer from it now. I can imagine equipment faults on the District resulting in delays will have an effect on all shared lines eventually. I suppose Connect is not going to solve that. Is Connect going to be connected to the old Circle and H&C radio system?

When Circle and Hammersmith trains are on the Disitrict they use their radio. Also the District give "prioity" to their trains and often cause big gaps to the C&H.
