Given there's a PDF on the TfL website of closures SIX MONTHS in advance, that's plenty of time for the football people to fit their silly games AROUND the engineering works.

Ahh, but looking at the tfl website, is way too easy, isn't it? Finding that page on the TfL website, without knowing where it is, counts as one of the most frustrating internet experiences I have had. Thank the lord for bookmarks...... Mind you I reckon the whole of the TfL site is pretty badly laid out!

Although they are helpful, there is one very annoying part in the station closures document. This weekend, among many others, Kings X Northern line is closed with no trains stopping. But it is not listed because Kings X is open!

There is nothing to update. Kings Cross is open for business as normal. Even though Northern line trains are not stopping there! So the PDF is correct because it is open! The PDF is for station closures, because trains are not stopping at Kings Cross does not mean the station is closed.
Very infuriating when changing from the Circle to the Northern as I did on Saturday. No warning until I get to to the short escalator which runs between the Piccadilly and the Northern! BTW, anyone know what they are doing there?

There is nothing to update. Kings Cross is open for business as normal. If one line's platforms are being "non-stopped" then the station is not open "as normal" and there should be advance publicity to say so. This is especially true in the case of underground platforms serving stations adjacent to mainline termini and where they interchange with other LU lines as not being able to use those platforms will cause delay to people's journey. So much for putting the customer first.

Why don't tfl publish a separate PDF that gives all the info on disruptions that passengers need to know? They do this for the posters that are all around the system, so the info must be compiled anyway.

They do this for the posters that are all around the system, so the info must be compiled anyway. They do. If you register on the TfL website for Underground travel information then you'll be sent a weekly e-mail containing all of this information in summary form. It contains links to PDF files that contain all of the details of replacement bus services, a map, and sometimes the actual leaflet that can be found at stations.

Heaven forbid!! NO!! Keep the Middlesex mob off The Tube system. The more they have to walk, the less they will want to go, which possibly explains their pittance of a crowd and lack of selling out their tickets. ;D Let's just keep Arsenal as the only true North London team

Arsenal? The only true North London team?!
to quote wikipedia...
whilst Spurs on the other hand have been in Tottenham since the start..
and we're older.
Hence, Tottenham is truly the only North London team.
So i'll be supporting the petition as a British Citizen in Australia!

*yawn*. Y'all seem to be obsessed with north London teams - what's wrong with a certain team in southwestern London?

I don't understand the obsession with football myself, but there you go Pre-cisely. Which is why LU money shouldn't be spent on keeping football fans happy - if you want to build a football stadium, you pay for the transport changes yourself.

Aye, Football punters may bring in a lot of cash for the relevant Transport Operator, but the effective return is negated when you look at cleaning up afterwards, removal of drunk fans sprawled out on platforms, litter, etc...
Don't share an interest in football myself...

Hence, Tottenham is truly the only North London team. So i'll be supporting the petition as a British Citizen in Australia! Arsenal moved to Islington in 1913. Spuds meantime played in Middlesex until the GLC made the area part of Greater London in 1985 (or thereabouts), making Arsenal the original team. The reason they moved North of the river was that there were no decent teams in the area, while The Southbank was swamped. Knowledge is the bomb, and I thank you!

well, correct me if i'm wrong, but Spurs are a North London team, in that they are North of London?
Being in Middlesex merely proves the point that they are a Northern London team.
You're point is one of only minor political officialness, geographically makes no difference whatsoever. But then, that would be expected of a gooner, after all, they had to be promoted into the top division under 'dubious circumstances...'
