As much as I hate to admit it, most of the faults that tubeprune quite rightly picked up were not addressed in the early 90's refurb. *snip* All these faults are what makes me like them so much! Well prjb, I admire your honesty. I am a bit prejudiced anyway because, at Baker St, we had A Stock to work on as well. No contest! I do love my A stock!!!! Proper trains, real legends, hard working, well built, tough and great to travel on. It'll be a desparately sad day when they leave the Met! Having said that-I love the C stock too! Great trains, real monsters that eat up huge numbers of people, yet seem deserted and empty late at night! They rattle and shake over rail gaps (the problem with only 3 DMs) but they are what I grew up with! The only problem with the C69/77s are there aren't enough of them! The first S stock trains should be S7s and they can supplement the Circle/H&C service (it'll keep the A stock on longer too!).

Funnily enough, the last time I was on Oxford Street, a girl working for a charity stopped me and we talked for a bit. Somehow, we got on to talking about the Circle line and she said that the trains (i.e. the C stock) were so old and slow that they were pulled by horses! lol
Yes, the C stock is getting long in the tooth but it can carry an awful lot of people and thanks to the 1990s refurbishment programme, the trains aren't very tatty.

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

My wife (who knows nothing about trains what so ever) travelled from Pinner to Farringdon and back last week. When she got home that night she moaned about the horrible ride and awful sprung seats!
I have to admit though, 'C' Stock are starting to look a bit rough around the edges.

My girlfriend hates the A stock seats too, (she has much to learn!) she likes the Bakerloo line seats(?). I hate the low back seats they give me a back ache. I have to admit, the Met ride quality is on the up! The newer track is really making a difference and the trains seem more stable! I was on the Picc the other day and they were all over the shop! I love the Met seats-then again what else am I going to say... The Cs are showing corrosion at the car ends (more than the A stock strangly!) but I still like them! Least they don't need to be taped up
