I was reading this and noticed something about future extentions including the Met beyond Rickmansworth. The actual wording was "In a few years they may want to extend the Met line past Rickmansworth, the District line past Wimbledon or the Central past Ealing Broadway" Im pretty sure the Met does go there as I was up on the north end this week. Dont they even bother to look at a Tube or are they a bit busy with the ELL and its future role? www.workersliberty.org/system/files/fscache/6A/32/6A326A54

To be honest they have been building tubes quite a lot of the past few decades compared to after the New Works program. The Victoria in 1967 and then the Jubilee that was only opened seven years ago. You also have the ELL extensions which are quite major too.
Extending further into the countryside can't happen without a new route into the centre.
The focus now should be on improving what we have already and that is happening at a relatively swift pace - infraco bankruptcy depending.
