When TFL overground is formed, does anyone know if LU drivers will be able to apply to transfer to overground services, and if the salary is likely to be the same?

When TFL overground is formed, does anyone know if LU drivers will be able to apply to transfer to overground services, and if the salary is likely to be the same? I'm guessing that they will be employed by the Contractor MTR Laing I understand. (Probably like on the Docklands- Serco). It wouldn't suprised me if they had the same uniforms as LUL Staff though. I would guess that any staff who decided to change companies would have to resign, losing all your current perks, just like joining another TOC. Also I believe that the current NR Station Staff staff that will transfering over to LUL under TUPE in November will be on a lower rate of pay to current LUL staff. They will however retain their ticket offices

Will the drivers on the ELL TUPE to overground? Surely legally they can't lose pay continuous service etc etc.

No all LUL staff will be re-deployed. And that was agreed by the Unions.

No all LUL staff will be re-deployed. And that was agreed by the Unions. Well they have nothing else to do for few years. They officially leave on the 26 December and go to their new depots, stations or lines. Its all on the Intranet somewhere!

I understand it, that existing Silverlink Staff will have their rights and 'perks' t/f'd; the new employer would be under an obligation to match or surpass these...
There was a mini hoo-hah over a Silverlink SA getting £18k, where as a LU SA gets considerably more in pay and annual leave!

£34k for driver, £37,500 for Driver Instructor? Hmmm... I see their "driver instructor" grade gets roughly twice the pay differential over a driver that an LUL Instructor Operator gets over a Train Operator. However extra duties include: Assist in winterisation Infrastructure operating duties Operational duties Maintenance and cleaning Cleaning? Winterisation?

What's winterisation then? Running de-icer units? That's not exactly difficult! I was considering a move to overground but now I've seen the pay on offer I don't think I'll bother. Rather stay snug and warm underground and get the extra money.

To make matters worse, DI's on the mainline are graded as managers. I reckon they might want to up the pay a bit to attract staff especially as its inner London. The parts of London that these drivers will have to go through the rates are hardly attractive compared to ours. I wonder if its a 4 day week with Sundays outside the roster?
Just noticed they only want qualified drivers. They'll be lucky. Most TOC's pay more than that!!!

I would just like to clarify some things that have been mentioned on here:
1. The Driver Instructor rate of pay is £35,700 and not £37,500. this is a typo by LOROL.
2. The Equalvilant to a SA on Silverlink is no where near the £18,000 that has been mentioned, infact the grade of RO2 on Silverlink is actually £12,500.
3. Current London Underground staff will not be TUPE over to LOROL they will stay within LU.
Infact new staff over then Drivers are being offered £16,000 which is slightly more then the current £12,500 however that is an all inclusive deal with Sundays as part of the working week. So really no real increase in salary.
