Went into town today to buy myself some pressies and saw the number 45 bus with the new orange dot matrix light-up display. Very bright and very clear. However there was an oddity. This bus usually displays 'Consett' but this one was showing '1 Swede'.... I wonder if there was a Hedgehog in the gubbins?

You've just reminded me of once seeing a bus on the Great North Road alternating between its destination and "Merry Christmas". Nice thought, except that it was mid summer

There is one bus company in Sydney which had a sense of humour. When its buses were running out of service, instead of the usual "Out of service" display, they showed "LOST".
Then it got taken over by Connex, and all such levity was firmly stamped out.

I remember seeing one in Swansea, presumably on route to the depot, that said "Home"

We discovered that there were a number of strange things programmed into the old dot matrix boards when i worked on the buses. One of which displayed "Driver Of The Year 1975"(!) and my favourite "TOON ARMY!!"

Last year, while on holiday I came across a tram that claimed to be going to 'Nowhere In Particular'
