Question, does the depot have a train wash shed, if so which end of the depot is it , Acton or Ealing ?

In terms of a an automatic drive through train wash, yes, Upminster depot has the only one on the District line.
However both Ealing Common depot and Upminster depot have deep clean roads where trains can be cleaned inside or outside by hand. When I say by hand, it can literally be by hand or can involve hand operated machinery.
The deep clean roads are generally used mostly for graffiti removal and machine polishing the floors.

I can remember when Upminster had two train wash machines, I think it was 52 & 53 road or maybe it was 51 & 52 road.

It can wash both ways but we only use it in automatic mode to wash trains exiting the depot.
To wash entering the depot would require manually pressing a button to start the wash machine and is a "depot staff only" job.
