Has anyone seen the new platform indicators at Stratford? I saw them on the eastbound platform yesterday.

What do they look like? picture of the Eastbound platform indicator at StratfordFor me it is a lot more legible towards the back of the platform than the previous one. However I still think two boards would have been even better than just one.

That looks to be the same as the ones installed at Shepherd's Bush Market (and other stations on the Hammersmith and City & Circle line).
Presumably they are the current standard.

I think the letter height is less than that specified in railway standards.
I wish they would switch to white lettering as used on Thameslink. Much clearer.

Alas domestic moaning and a lockdown have kept me from the trains since last September. So I did not even know that its been replace - let alone seen it.
Probably two indicators would have been too expensive - because of the wiring works required. But yes two would have been far FAR better. Or at least something with much larger lettering.

Were split-flap indicators e.g. those manufatured by Solar ever used for Underground services?

Were split-flap indicators e.g. those manufatured by Solar ever used for Underground services? Solari ? Only for station clocks (and set-number boxes on 1983 Stock and pre-refurbishment 1973 Stock); which has come up before in this Forum

The letters seem much brighter. They also display up to 4 trains. However, I haven't seen them display ** train approaching ** or ** mind the doors ** automatically like the old ones did?
They seem a bit sluggish compared to the old ones - even after the train has left it takes a bit longer for it to clear.

I just don't get why they have to be so small.

I just don't get why they have to be so small. A four line display is an improvement. There is not a lot of headroom.
