Inset D, Lighthouse on St. Mary's Island, Florida.
(Sorry; off Whitley Bay. I ALWAYS get those two mixed-up).

B reminds me of Langdon Park, southbound side, the structure is the lift up to the bridge over the tracks.

The link is all stations have lifts but I doubt it is that simple. If that's the case though the 5th in the set would be Reading.

Inset D1 Warwick Castle,Inset D3 Sandbanks Bay

I think both guesses for D3 are kind of correct as it looks like it's taken from the front of the ferry that links Sandbanks to Studland.
Link - all are park/forest/garden so imply green space (even if there isn't). Westernmost therefore Moor Park or Chorleywood - I lean to the former as it's also two words.

I correct my last guess to D3 = View of Studland from Sandbanks Ferry.

Inset D1: Warwick Castle gatehouse [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Inset D3: Sandbanks ferry - view towards Studland in August 2006 [Chris M] (click for a larger version) The link is unrelated to lifts or station names.

Are these linked by the fact that they were renovated before or something?

Nothing to do with renovations.

Nope, looking at a tube map may help you with this one.

I actually wanted to say that they are adjacent to two interchange stations but it doesn't make sense for Langdon Park, or does it? The fifth in the set for this wouldve been Twyford

I was keeping to the parks , gardens , forest theme so changed to Ruislip Gardens as two words from Chorleywood as that was one word. If it wasn't that , it was a lucky guess !

All the stations featured are two stops away from an Out-of-Station Interchange (Bayswater, Bow Church, Penge West and Charing Cross, respectively) though in Covent Garden's case, you'd need to change at Leicester Square. In this case the westernmost location that could be fifth in the set would I think be Uxbridge.
But I'm not very confident in saying that!

Proximity to OSIs is a significant part of it, but they aren't all two stops away as you've noted

These stations are respectively 1, 2, 3 & 4 stops from OSIs (Shepherd's Bush, Bow Church, New Cross Gate & Caledonian Road) while Ruislip Gardens is the 5th in the set since it's 5 stops from Hanger Lane.
