I'll take a guess at the odd one out being B; ascending.

Location C: Woodside Park - footbridge leading to Woodside Road and car park [ Tubeboy ] (click for a larger version) Location D: Tooting Broadway - descending escalator [Chris M] (click for a larger version) so what is the link and which is the odd one out?

Think D is Tooting Broadway. "I don't think so Holmes. Tooting Broadway is not an interchange station, it's only on the Northern Line, so why signpost the fact?"

Odd one out: St. Paul's - all the others are served by the Northern line.
However the main link is geographical.

They are all technically linked by the same branch as any train can go through these 3 stations (High Barnet/Mill Hill East via Bank/Charing Cross from Morden)

No, train services are not relevant to this link

St Pauls is the only one inside Zone 1, or to the east of Trafalgar Square?

Their location relative to each other is not relevant. Think about zones, but not TfL's fare zones, and think about the names.

They're all two-word names, in the same postal district? (What are postal districts called in London?)

The number of words is not relevant, and it's not postal districts but keep thinking along those sorts of lines

Somehow those 3 stations are coincidentally in the same column (5) on the tube map

That is indeed coincidental. The tube map will not help you with this question.

No, that wouldn't have any relation to zones, districts, or anything of that nature. You need to consider the names of the stations in a wider context.

Did a mini research, I have found Tooting, Turle (Woodside Park), and Tufnell to be the T family, where they are related to these areas.

It's not about the letter T, or areas the stations are named for/give their names to.

A long shot, but is it as simple as they're all "suburban" stations, except St Pauls?

Is it to do with parishes? Not parishes but you're getting closer.
