I’m assuming there is stepping back at Hyde Park Corner? IIRC T/OP's were stepping back (two trains?) when reversing at Hammersmith via Barons Court siding to achieve the same frequency so I too would assume that as a prerequisite for this weekend with just a single platform at Hyde Park Corner available.

Between 13.00 and 22.30 on Saturday, 15th February and between 15.00 and 20.00 on Sunday, 16th February an additional three trains per hour will operate between Arnos Grove and Green Park, reversing via Down Street Siding. These services combine to provide a 4 minute service (15 trains per hour) between Arnos Grove and Green Park.
And yes, stepping back two trains at Hyde Park Corner.

What work is being done over this weekend ? Track replacement works Hammersmith, drainage works West Kensington, track maintenance work Earl's Court-High Street Kensington, step-free access works Wimbledon Park.

Are Heathrow Terminal 4 trains not terminating at Boston Manor and then reversing into the depot?

Are Heathrow Terminal 4 trains not terminating at Boston Manor and then reversing into the depot? The access to the depot is between Osterley and Boston Manor. So trains terminate at Osterley and run into the depot.

Certainly no Arnos Grove to Green Park extras as the moment. Anyone know why?

Certainly no Arnos Grove to Green Park extras as the moment. Anyone know why? Around 13.45 there was a report of smoke at the east end of Hyde Park Corner station, this later required traction current off in the siding to investigate, the Down Street trains were cancelled as a consequence.

The access to the depot is between Osterley and Boston Manor. So trains terminate at Osterley and run into the depot. To reverse into the depot, wouldn't the destination be Northfields? No. Detrain Osterley eastbound. Run to WS3B (between Osterey and Boston Manor, just before the bridge over the M4). Wait for the shunt to clear, then proceed over the points into the depot west end reception road. Stop at the stop board. Shut the train down, change ends. Open up the west end of the train. Plunge, then accept WS10A. Proceed empty to Osterley, re enter service there. And repeat. The depot west end reception road is the road immediately behind the fence of the westbound platform at Boston Manor if that helps anyone visualise it. The move above should be relatively easy to follow based on the track layout on Carto Metro.

Is the weather (strong winds, at times torrential rain) affecting any of the works?

Is the weather (strong winds, at times torrential rain) affecting any of the works? All appears to have gone well: - 170m of new trackwork Hammersmith-Ravenscourt Pk WB local, where they recovered traction current rails stamped “D.K 1903” ! (possibly for steel company Deutsche Krupp?) - Rail grinding West Brompton-Wimbledon - sleeper changes at East Putney and Wimbledon - drain refurbishment just east of West Kensington

Current rail stamped 1903 ? Wasn’t the line worked by steam trains until 1905 .

From what I've been told, this was the wrong road starter trainstop catching fire.

I would be most interested in acquiring a (short) length of the marked conductor rail (RP has been my local station for many years). Presumably it will all just go for scrap?

Or, if somebody is "thinking outside the box", to be cut up and sold via the LTM shop!

Or, if somebody is "thinking outside the box", to be cut up and sold via the LTM shop! Carrying a shoe off a train or a fishplate is hard enough, so anything more than an inch long section of juice rail would be so heavy!

Based on what I've found online, conductor rail is most likely to be somewhere between 100 and 150lb/yd (50-74kg/m). That would make a 50cm piece of rail between 25 and 37kg (55-81lb), 30cm would be between 15 and 22kg (33-49lbs). Very heavy but doable - albeit not in your average carrier bag.

A three inch section of rail makes a brilliant door-stop.
