I don 't believe the official figures that passenger
numbers are back up to 90 % of the pre bombing
period . What is the general impression ?

Not sure why you should disbelieve the official figures, but from my own experiences of the last couple of weeks, I would say they are pretty much back to normal levels.

Have you been on the underground recently? I'd say were very much back to normal

I must say midweek, midday off peak periods seem slightly quieter than i would have expected for what was a summer holiday period, but peaks, evenings and weekends seem pretty much back to normal levels.

I don 't believe the official figures because they are propaganda . On the day after
the bombing LUL claimed passenger usage was back to normal - nonsense . I work
on the Picc and numbers especially cattle class are well down whatever the official
figures say.

I certainly never saw anything on 8th July to say that passenger usage was back to normal. In fact, a few weeks after, LU said that passenger numbers were down approx 30%. I work on the District, and I can assure you that the numbers travelling is now back to pretty much what it was before 7/7.

Much as they appear on the whole to be back to almost normal, there are certain times / areas where you notice there are still a few missing.
My experience is using King's Cross around 1700-1800hrs. It used to be jammed in the SSL gateline area. But even the other day it was still pretty lightly populated for that time of the evening. It could be of course that journey patterns have changed or it could be because currently they have removed the passenger flow control systems there as part of the station refurb ;D

it could be because currently they have removed the passenger flow control systems there as part of the station refurb ;D Is this an instance of people sorting themselves out better on their own when the structures/systems designed to do it for them fail? The roundabout at J17 of the M5 flows much more freely and the queues are much shorter when only one of the ~8 sets of traffic lights are working! When all the traffic lights are out, it flows better other than in the height of the rush hours, and yet they repair them every single time

Where did I see that ? From the mouth of Tim O ' Toole on every available news
outlet . Don 't get me wrong I know why the politicians and senior managers are
trying to reassure the public but it 's not true. Look at the station car parks , Arnos
Grove was full by 8 am every weekday , at 9 am this morning it was 75 % full .
It will take time for public confidence to fully return the sooner the better.

robots - I think you are misinterpreting what you saw in the news. I saw Tim O'Toole and Ken Livingstone saying that 'we should not be beaten' and that 'we should carry on as normal'. Also that 'we should return to the network as soon as possible to show the terrorists they haven't won'. These were words of advice and encouragement - not a statement of fact. Like Solidbond, I never saw any figures quoted by anyone stating that LUL or London buses had returned to normal either the day after, nor even three weeks after. LUL stated last week that 'passenger numbers are now starting to reach normal levels' - that's the first time they or anyone else has said that.
