Oh lovely! Memories! Is it at Hammersmith Piccadilly? Not sure which side. It does of course say "PICCADILLY LINE TRAIN" at the top! WB had "NOT STOPPING AT RAVENSCOURT PARK STAMFORD BROOK TURNHAM GREEN or BLANK CHISWICK PARK"
from memory.

Hmm, numerous places I can think of, but I'm going to say Northfields.

Funny, I seem to recall Barons Court had the black boxes on both platforms years ago.

its not barons court on the westbound picc has the newer type of description box (black type) if you look under the words piccadilly line the next light boxes are arrows to show if its left or right so it has to be a platform where they can come in on both sides i.e acton town so i go for acton town

I agree with Pat - Acton Town - but, I'll go further and say it's the eastbound fast at Acton.

I am sticking my neck out a bit here, I want to say Acton Town but the roof doesn't look right, so I don't think it is Acton.

I don't think the roof is Acton Town.
The roof of the 'old' Hammersmith station was a creamy/ yellow colour. Looking at the picture carefully, it looks like the roof is of timber/ steel construction.

I think I'll have a stab at elimination on this !
Not Barons Court eastbound- slightly different design & no sloping roof. Not Hammersmith - removed some years ago. Not Acton Town eastbound - although concrete roof, the white paint and mesh by lights is wrong. So, I'd have to also say, the disused box at Northfields- EB.

(As an aside, if you look very carefully at the enlarged picture you can see CALEDONIAN RD 'hidden' in the 2nd from bottom - right aspect.)

Last time I got stranded at Northfields thanks to a suspension between there and Heathrow, it was definitely there, this was in March. Unless they have since removed it, I can almost guarantee it was there, as I always wondered why it wasn't used, as the DMI's don't yet display the train destinations.

Yeah they havent been used since they were installed several years ago, they occasionally have the odd eastbound train message thats about it recently, i just really dont recall seeing it and i use it every weekend! and ive taken pictures of nearly everything thier!

I ams sure that the District platform describers at Acton Town and Hammersmith had "PICCADILLY LINE" on the right side.

The answer on the sheet in front of me says: Northfields train describer ;D ;D Thank you. All those hours of waiting for trains at Northfields when the Picc has been misbehaving, has finally paid off! Great quiz & photo though, it looks like it could of been anyone of the others mentioned.
