Definition of POGO Passenger Open/Guard Open should inform you that they were installed before the use of Guards finished on 4 November 1985.

I seem to recall that the POGO switches remained in circuit even after One Person Operation, but were always left in the 'GO' position meaning Operator Open. I think they were removed from circuit when redundant wiring was disconnected at Refurb when we removed all the Passenger buttons. The switch was always known as POGO though. A bit too rude to substitute another 'O' for the 'G'!

I think they were left there serving as terminal bars rather than switches, but would have to hunt out old docs to be certain.

Off topic I know but I didnt realise the Northern line ran '38 stock parallel to '59 and '72 stock? Unless the unit at 44:25 was not a '38 stock? How long did all three run together? Great video btw, loved the ending

Off topic I know but I didnt realise the Northern line ran '38 stock parallel to '59 and '72 stock? How long did all three run together? When I came to London in 1976 the Northern Line was running all three types, as 1972 stock was replacing 1938 stock on a "one-in, one-out" basis. There was also a brief period in 1986-88 when 1938 stock was again used on the Northern alongside the newer stocks. The penultimate post in this old thread summarises the stock changes on the Northern over the years www.districtdavesforum.co.uk/thread/6102/38s-on-northern-line
