Thinking about it, I reckon that D has to be between Kenton and South Kenton which suggests that the link has something to do with stations named after the same location (Acton, Dagenham, Kenton).

Location C looks like the bridge over the Botley Road next to the railway station in Oxford

In that case, perhaps Inset A is Saviour Monastery of St Euthymius + Kremlin with Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral in the Suzdal Oblast
