Hi, thanks, I thought of all the above, and can do myself, have a flickr a/c, I was just wondering if/how you attach a file directly ,to a post right here, rather than putting it somewhere else and linking.
You can't. When you see images inline they are hosted elsewhere and displayed from there, everything else can only be linked.
I have managed to find some time by text recognition scanning to get the data into a postable format.
Two following posts, one for “flag down” A C and D stock, the other for “flag up”.
These are standardised values and can be used for direct comparative purposes but note
All are at 575 V traction current All are fully loaded There is no gradient value stated but assumed to be all level There is no wheel size given (affects tractive effort hence acceleration) and no idea if these are new or half or fully worn wheels
I am sure that some may post anecdotes about different performance according to phases of the blue moon however these are not relevant, or dis-agree over decimal points of weights, but the entire purpose is to make direct comparisons between different stock types by equalised data.
The ... represent <tab> characters for columns – anyone with a lot of time on their hands in the next few weeks could maybe create graphs from excel. The two useful graphs would be A+C+D flag down together, ditto flag up.
Hope someone finds this useful.
One piece of comparitive data interesting to me is
A 127 kN TE up to ~21 mph C 168 kN TE up to ~15.5 mph D 248 kN TE up to ~13.5 mph
I am sure I have similar data for 6car O/P and 7car R formations (i.e. the latter day formations) but not unearthed them yet.
