I think it's leading to one of the Bakerloo platforms at Embankment - don't ask which one though (although I am thinking Northbound).

Actually, now you mention it Colin the one I usually use on the Northbound, has got a handrail in the middle of it - so now I don't know.

I am inclined to agree with dstock18, I think it is Green Park, somewhere on that marathon hike from the Picc to the Vic.

No, it's definitely Embankment - I think it's the staircase to the northbound Northern Line platform.

Definitely Green Prk, much more 60's than 80's of Embankment

It does seem familiar, and I used to change at Green Park all the time...
However, the signs in this station are lies. I suppose getting people to go on walkabout to switch trains helps congestion, but I quickly found that going via the ticket hall (up and down the escalators) much faster than traipsing around the bowels of london.
So if this is somewhere in that tunnel, I've only been through it a couple of times.

Answer:
This is the passage from the westbound District Line to the Bakerloo Line at Embankment. I was heading for the Northbound Bakerloo line, but can't remember whether this particular passage leads only to the northbound or to both. Alex, as I remember, the handrail in the centre starts a short distance round the corner.
