Most of the Night Tube workers aren't Night Tube workers any more, they have came over to the Dark Side (we have cookies) |

Most of the (former) night tube workers want the deal - it's literally only the RMT that don't, and as far as I understand their concerns they mainly relate to (a) payments for platform staff and (b) the possibility of drivers who are not night tube staff having to do night shifts. |

OK: First they came for the platform staff's payments, then they came for the drivers that might have to do night duty ...It's a shame that a tongue in cheek quip has to be analysed, corrected, and, no doubt, analysed again. And in case anyone needs it pointed out to them, the bit in yellow is also very much tongue in cheek. |

From John Leach's last video RMT's three issues were...
- Night Tube shifts cannot be compulsory
- 200 jobs cannot be cut
- work/life balance cannot be made worse
Firstly there's no way management will agree that Night Tube should be voluntary and ASLEF have already agreed that they should be part of the full time roster.
Secondly as Night Tube shifts will be included in the full time roster the 200 Night Tube part time positions are no longer necessary. When the new timetable is introduced in November there will undoubtedly be an increase in the number of positions on the rosters, maybe not 200 but when you add in the required increase of pools drivers it will probably be close to it. None of the Night Tube part timers (TO23) have been made redundant, the majority have switched to full time contracts (TO21) and the few that wish to carry on working Night Tube shifts can do so.
Thirdly ASLEF have confirmed that Night Tube shifts will only come around once every 12-13 weeks, they will be spread over all depots (on the Central West Ruislip and Loughton don't have Night Tube) and drivers won't work more weekends than they currently do

Just goes to prove you shouldn't believe everything you hear in the mess room, latest news is that RMT are back at ACAS.
The new rumour via WhatsApp is that the reps are split 11 - 8 between those who want the strike called off and those who want the strike to go ahead but it will be the Executive Committee that will ultimately decide if the strike goes ahead.

I do not wish to do any of these night duty shifts on Friday or Saturday. 2. I’m happy to do my own rostered ones when they come around. 3. So the fact that TFL haven't made any announcements could be taken to indicate that they doubt the strike will go ahead, or it could be normal TFL incompetence. |

I don't think incompetence is a fair description here. Even if it was certain to go ahead, I wouldn't expect communication from TfL about it until about today or tomorrow.

I don't think incompetence is a fair description here. Well, opinions will vary. I expect that anyone who has made arrangements that require the use of affected lines that are not easily rearranged will disagree. But as I said, it seems that most of the strikes mooted here get called off before they occur so I suppose it's a bit of a balancing act for them. |

If your on Vic or central there is potential for someone to loose 4 days pay if there were due to work night tube as well
