I’m assuming it’s a power failure affecting the control room?

Would there be an alternative power source in this eventuality?

Given that it was suspended from about 09:45 to 15:15 I suspect that either there wasn't an alternative power source, or the alternative took around 5 hours to implement.

There must be a redundancy plan for a power failure of this sort, and for whatever reason there's a gap in it. Hopefully a good opportunity for lessons learned without any damage.

Would there be an alternative power source in this eventuality? I’d be shocked if there wasn’t.

It is up and running but the indicator boards on the platforms (at least at Stratford & West Ham) were blank.

It seems the departure boards have frozen to the state they were in when the power went. Do we know yet what it was yet ? I’m guessing it wasn’t traction current

Looks like a permanent fix hasn't been achieved as trains will end early tonight at Sunday Times.

Was out of London yesterday , was the whole line suspended or was it a part suspension and can you tell us which stations it was between ?

Part suspended again north of Wembley "due to earlier power failure". Did they run out of old style £1 coins for the meter again or something?

TFL need to give a bit more info on what’s happening with this problem. The platform describers are still not working.
Just saying it’s a power failure isn’t good enough.

Did they run out of old style £1 coins for the meter again or something? Unfortunately, power surge in the Control Room. PEDs not opening on fitted stations. Control moved to the emergency Control Room. Line suspended from 23.40, trains finished at Sunday times. This morning, failure still persists on desk controlling Wembley Park-Stanmore.

plan to use the line from waterloo around 3.30. Any idea on what the service pattern being run is/frequency?

I’m assuming they are reversing trains at Wembley Park, Willesden Green and West Hampstead. Can’t check though because the failure has affected the departure screens!

Why not turn off the departure screens so that it doesnt cause confusion to passengers?
Do we know if the issue will be fixed today?

Maybe its time to return to clockwork train operations... its robust and not susceptible to power surges.

I was sitting on a train at Canning Town at about 1030 when the driver announced we'd be held for a few minutes whilst the control room rebooted the system--I guess that was to get the last bit to Stanmore sorted. It only seemed to take a couple of minutes.

They probably running windows 98 still and they got the blue screen of death and the computer said nooo I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I've heard of companies still using old systems. I've read before that Paris Orly airport's ATC still has Windows 3.1! My local hospital still had some Windows XP computers a couple of years ago and I've seen cash machines running NT4.
