It looks like it could be a pipe connected between cars of a train?

I am still trying to work out what yesterday's offering was. Yesterdays offering was a serving of fish and chips. And no its not a pipe connected between cars of a train.

Yesterdays offering was a serving of fish and chips. Oh! Which was the fish and which was the chips? Why did Christopher J think that fish and chips looked like a pipe between cars?

Yesterdays offering was a serving of fish and chips. Oh! Which was the fish and which was the chips? *laughing* The chips are the long rectangle looking and have potato in them. The fish is the white thing that is covered with batter. (yes I do know what you are doing. I figured it out last night)

Jesus Christ that pic's waaaay to small to even try and guess what it is.
Probably overhead wiring though...

No its not the overhead. Perhaps a bigger picture then. It should give a few clues.

Well let us look at the facts:- 1. There is oil on the object in question. 2. You have just mentioned the word 'flippers' in another thread. 3. Yesterday's picture apparently included a fish. Are these clues?

1. one is a clue. 2 and 3 are not clues.
A BIG clue: It is connected to another bar and moves. (whats longest time of a quiz like this.)

A BIG clue: It is connected to another bar and moves. A barman? But we have already established that the clock on this forum and the ones on the stations in Melbourne are not working.

No it isn't a barman. The ones on the Validators are working. ;D

OK So we have established that it is nothing to do with fish and chips and it is not a barman. I am going to take a long-shot here. Is it a photograph of something on an railway in Australia?

Post by pakenhamtrain on Jul 14, 2006 4:15:29 GMT
Yes it is a photograph of somthing on an railway in Australia? But what?

Post by CSLR on Jul 14, 2006 4:19:41 GMT
What is this and what is it attached to? Right. That is the second part of the question answered then. It is attached to the Australian railway system.

Post by CSLR on Jul 14, 2006 4:27:47 GMT
Is it in any way connected to the signalling system?
|
|
|
Post by pakenhamtrain on Jul 14, 2006 4:30:32 GMT
Sort of. It is attached to track circuits. In some loacations it the siginal will not change unless this moves.

Is it something to do with the pointwork?
|
|
|
Post by pakenhamtrain on Jul 14, 2006 4:41:34 GMT
No it has nothing to do with pointwork.

It's not a part Boom gate. It is close to a boom gate though. Most Melbourne level crossings have this.

What does the moss growing on it do?

The moss does nothing. Heres another clue.

Did you take this picture? Is it accessible to the public? Is its automatic or hand operated? It looks close to the ground or a wall.
