I was at Rayners Lane today and saw that both tracks in the old goods yard adjacent to the westbound platform have been lifted and removed from site, except for an 8-10m long set of points that remain at the eastern end of the track furthest from the platform. It looks like the site is being graded and levelled as well following the track removal. The disused tracks have remained in situ for 53 years since the yard closed in August 1964 so it seems a bit strange to remove them after so long. Anyone got any idea why it's been done?

Another equipment room I seem to recall. SSR Signalling or some prep for Deep Tube Upgrade. Or both.

I think the tracks were removed by two scruffy individuals in a beat-up 1970's transit open-backed truck. (also containing two old central heating radiators and a scrap washing machine)

But that's not what we, the public, understood by that announcement... *Edit for clarity* For reuse elsewhere in reinstating the tracks as they were...

Never try to be funny on the net, there is always somebody who doesn't spot that it is a joke.

Yes, it's a new Signalling Equipment Room as part of 4LM. Work is due to start any time now and will take about 6 months to complete and then Thales will install their signalling equipment.

Bound for Peckham or was it Oildrum Lane Sheperds Bush? Now an up-market housing development. With a "beautiful" vista of the West cross Route and the slab wall of Westfields
