I understand the A60 Stock is out for the very last time this season. Any word on when it will be doing the rounds on the Met?

It's been out this week! There will be a path timetable around but it will. It will not always run of course!

It's been out and about most of this week running as and when required, in controller's timings. Signalling mitigations were switched in at the top end of the Met this morning.
The Met RAT (and Central and Piccadilly RATs) should begin regular timetabled operation from Monday, alongside the Network Rail Railhead Treatment Train. The lower speed limits will also apply from this time.

We've been busy with the A stock this week. We have been training the remaining Test Train operators with stock and road handling and have been performing shake down runs to ensure shes A1 for the start of the season. As a nicety we ran the train in anger for a few days working to our own timings and working around everybodys training needs so we could get some Sandite down. Neasden depot has also gone above and beyond this week to finish their training on it and putting everything in its place by working with us so it was out and about laying sandite early. Collaboration at it's best :-)

Will be great to see it running once more. I missed it last year, by minutes on one very gloomy occasion.

Engineering department within LU responsible for the fleet of battery powered locos/trains aswell as a plethora of other engineering capabilities carried out either in house or in conjunction with appointed contractors such as Balfour Beatty. From a vague memory I believe their are based around Ruislip Depot and Acton works following the Earls Court Redevelopment project affecting Lillie Bridge Depot.

From a vague memory I believe their are based around Ruislip Depot and Acton works following the Earls Court Redevelopment project affecting Lillie Bridge Depot. They are now the dominant user of Ruislip. You'll see many of their wagons if you look out of the window between Ruislip and Ickenham on the Met, and of course every now and then you'll see engineers' stock out and about on the Combine. Test Crew are crewing the Met and Central Sandites, I'm not sure which department are covering the Piccadilly. Generally Sandites (and heritage and other test trains) have always been the remit of Test Crew, although there is definitely overlap between the functions of the two departments. A hangover of PPP, effectively - TransPlant being a private subsidiary of Tube Lines.

Is it Doing trips on the main to Amersham? If so, good to see it is 750v capable. Booked up (and down) the local to all north Met destinations. The high voltage kit generally doesn't have a problem with slightly more juice than originally - it's the low voltage stuff that doesn't take too kindly to the increases, and there's very little of that on the A60s. The D78s have been modified to be compatible with 750v as part of their conversion works.

The A60 RAT seen at Uxbridge just before 16h30 this afternoon pretty close to its booked timing. Will post a photo when I can download from the camera as in mid Solent at the moment! Great to see an A Stock out once more.

I saw it parked in the sidings at Neasden yesterday afternoon, but it looked like it was preparing to head out.

I was very lucky to see the RAT pull into Amersham last night and then followed me home to Northwood Hills. Seemed to be running well as he sped past the platform

In short, the train was gapped on the approach to Harrow 5 and the recovery process was a little convoluted.
It isn't the only RAT to get gapped this year.

Just saw the A Stock RAT fly up the northbound fast at Preston Rd, sounds a lot healthier than a few days back. On a side note, is the D Stock RAT able to run with both weak field and coasting flags up on certain parts of the line?

Not sure but there is a speed restriction whilst operating that may conflict the double flag arrangement. With 16 powered axils on a 5 car train it would shift!!

Would it even need it @aetearlscourt , that's what I was thinking. And then I found this video, slowed down it looks like both flags are up. Video by LeMétro87

Looking carefully at the video it looks like just the coasting control is raised. In passenger mode it was an operating requirement that only one flag be raised at the approved locations.

I understand it's all over, that the RAT went out with a premature bang. One way trip to Booth's for 5110 and 5234?
I see from Flickr that 5113 is still in existence as of a few days ago, albeit in Rotherham. Anyone know of when the units will leave LU metals?
