It seems that in the absence of a (what is becoming traditional) four-part Friday nobody was inspired to have a stab yesterday. There's plenty for you today to try, identify these four locations, which is the odd one out and why: (click for a larger version) The locations are identified according to the diagram below:

Well done, all we need now is the odd one out and why. Answer: Location A: Ladbroke Grove - doors to rooms B-776 and B-777 on platform [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location B: Warwick Avenue - Clifton Gardens exit [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location C: Royal Victoria - area behind westbound platform [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location D: Aldgate East - to trains [Chris M] (click for a larger version)

Ladbroke Grove. The other three are all adjacent to a station that is going to be served by Crossrail?

true, and I wish I'd thought of that, but it's coincidental!

true, and I wish I'd thought of that, but it's coincidental! Thought it might be a bit too out of the box but something I noticed whilst staring at the map during my journey yesterday Now to go in the other direction, something I've thought would be too obvious. Royal Victoria due to it being the non-LU station out of the bunch?

Or possibly Warwick Avenue because it has no 'upstairs' buildings?

It's nothing to do with buildings or modes on this occasion

Is Ladbroke Grove the odd one out because it's the only one that doesn't carry its original name (Notting Hill)?

It is related to names, but not former names. Ladbroke Grove is not the odd one out.

Is it Warwick Avenue because it doesn't share any part of its name with any other station on the tube map?

Royal Victoria isn't the odd one out. This isn't a geography question, indeed you don't need to know anything additional about the stations in order to win the points.

Aldgate East because it is called as such to distinguish itself from Aldgate rather then having its name devoted to a specific locality as the others are?

Aldgate East because it is called as such to distinguish itself from Aldgate rather then having its name devoted to a specific locality as the others are? Half marks! Aldgate East is the odd one out in this set, however (as true as it may be) not for the reason you have suggested! You're all overthinking this one!

The original image appears to have 3 V shapes added. So all include letter V in the name except Aldgate East?
