Camden Town is already exit only at certain times.
Battersea is well underway, the TBMs are on site and possibly even digging by now. I understand digging the other way has reached the outside of the tunnel rings of the existing Northern Line.
I wonder if they toyed with the idea of expanding some platforms during the bank northern line closure or the London bridge closure back for the JLE. Would have a been an insane future proofing venture...

Yes a reliable source tells me voices can be heard whilst stopped inside the loop.

Hardly future proofing. A few stations would never help given that the same trains operate on both branches.
In any case deep level excavations take time and need surface access.
splitting the lines has been an integral part of the Battersea extension for a long while and if planning delays mean Camden Town station is not ready, then what else can they do?
Neither project depends on the other. The Battersea trains will simply be the existing Kennington terminators, which currently use the loop.
Conversely, if the Battersea branch us temporarily closed at any time after a full split, the loop will still be available to terminate the trains from the Charing Cross branch.
Concerning the points it is correct that there would be no need to do anything at them, however I am sure that they would be left in place to help the service in the case of failures or engineering work. If there were no points and the Bank branch was closed you would lose service south of Golders Green when trains could be run on the Charing Cross branch if the points were there.

The greatly enhanced Northern line service depends on both the Battrrsea extension and splitting the branches at Camden Town.

I was In the Loop the other night and got Held By the signaller for a few mins I opened the cab door and it sounded like they were going to join me in the cab!! They have also put up some sort of bracing in the loop as well on the tunnel rings.
