It looks like an illustration of a train bogie/motor. However you probably want to know what sort of train, so I'll guess wildly and say Standard stock

If Tom has a copy, then he will know that it does not actually say!!!!! But in context it can only be 59ts (unless Tom knows different!)

I would assume it's related to 59 or 62 stock (My copy is dated 1964 IIRC).

I'm glad we agree - a right peculiar book tho'. Neither a general interest nor an enthusiast's book: somewhere in between. Odd good bits though.
