Currently on a train to Chesham (13:25). Auto line announcements at stations advise no service to Chesham. Auto announcements on train says all stations to Chesham and then says there is no service to Chesham! Web site says good service on Met with previous details of no Chesham service removed. Confusing information being provided by TFL. I heard via the train radio that there's no one available to edit the S Stock DVA. The guy has apparently gone home Oh that's just embarrassing!!! "World class" balls up. Presumably though its definitely not a management failure for there being such an inadequate and woeful 'system' (of lack thereof) in place....

It could be possible to have made it possible to lock in an S8 on the branch using the Selective door opening to only open doors on half the train at Chalfont, however it would be unconventional, probably difficult to get past regulators and not worth the trouble for the very rare occasions needed. Would have needed major mods to implement SDO per half train. Currently only the DM car doorways are SDO. The other cars don't have the SDO facility.

I imagine DVA related stuff is only done by the supplier (bombardiar) and not by LU yet.

In 'theory' when the junction is moved up the line the bay could be extended to take 8 cars but with the service currently set I doubt LUL would bother!

It would not have been a mod, it could have gone in at the build stage

ISTR pre-1976, there was a bit of a siding beyond where the stop board/block is at Chesham where it was possible to stow a train. I worked on it mid 1973 to early 74, but maybe my memory is fading!
