I have a feeling charcoal grey was used for the 3x 1972MkI units that were refurbished during the '90s, although I have never seen proper photographic evidence of this... the picture in Underground Movement (Paul Moss) makes them appear blue! What Paul Moss does say, however, is that the lightly brushed stainless steel originally proposed for the 1996 stock interior grab poles was considered "the worst of all finishes for the visually impaired." As such, the Institute of Consumer Ergonomics of Loughborough recommended grapefruit yellow, which is what they went with in the end for both the Northern and Jubilee lines. The whole fleet is planned to be completed by August 2019. I could have sworn the Northern line mid-life refresh did not take nearly 3 years to complete? I am surprised by this timescale. I suspect this may be because the Jubilee simply doesn't have the spare trains to have too many out of service at any time. The Northern has more trains spare, especially as their overhaul was done just before the upgrade timetables came in.

so new wheelchair bays? - i thought existing wheelchair bays that already in existing trailer cars which has PEA which is on pillar facing wheelchair bay means the existing bays will be replaced with 2 bays in single train? It probably means that as on the 95 stock each trailer car will be fitted with wheelchair backboards either side of the central bay of seats (on one side) meaning each trailer car has space for two wheelchairs. Presumably this will be done to the two original trailers (the 2nd and 6th cars) and not the 2005 build special trailer. let me say - the original did have 4 wheelchair bays per carriage with accessible PEA per train so changing means other wheelchair bays change to multipurpose spaces and remove wheelchair symbols from outside of other cars?

so why not send some spare trains from northen to jubbiee for temporary running - Too short (only six cars) - Incompatible signalling systems - Transfer would involve a long odyssey by way of the Kings Cross loop, Picadilly Line, and Rayners Lane. - The Northern Line needs them now the upgrade timetable is in place The second one is probably the showstopper

If nothing else a slow refurbishment programme is better than nothing. One can hope that behind the scenes someone will be reviewing the fleet operational and quality statistics to make sure that priority is given to those trains (cars) which are most in need of attention. After a few recent trips on the line it was obvious that the internal condition of some cars were far better condition than others.
I recall that someone on the forum posted a link to a Tfl paper - back in February? - where they outlined the case/process to issue an ITT for up to 17 extra trains for use on the Jubilee (increased frequency) and Northern (Battersea service requirement). At the time I noted how the paper indicated that decisions would be made in the Autumn (so not far off) and warned that they would also need to take into account any policy changes following a capital programme review.
I guess a pause or delay in the ITT may not be entirely surprising given the enormous recent investment made in the sub surface stock. However if the extra rolling stock order is deferred/cancelled then presumably the Jubilee stock will end up needing several more important overhauls before they are eventually replaced. The worrying outcome could be that any saving on capital spend could be more than offset by increased operating costs just to keep the fleet safe let alone attractive. Obviously if the extra 10 Jubilee trains are ordered, it should provide the line management with greater flexibility and probably allow subsequent overhauls to be completed in less time.

I'm guessing that it'll just be a clone of the 95TS interior once done?

I'm guessing that it'll just be a clone of the 95TS interior once done? Not necessarily - the official artists impressions circulated internally showed grey grab-poles. Whether this will make it through the finished product remains to be seen.

The first train will be worked on at SMD (Stratford Market Depot) from October, and will take 12 weeks to complete. Someone has some ideas about the trains? There are still in refurbish stage? I didn't hear anyone speaking about units and process/ level of refurbish.

any update on when the first one will enter service? I believe the first one went in for refurb at the end of October - assuming they're not behind schedule (12 weeks to complete) the first one should be entering service soon

I'd say that's the best appearance so far on any line.

I remember that the first few 95 stocks to come out of refurb still had the buttons, and were replaced later on. Perhaps waiting for supplies?

Looks nicer than I imagined it would upon reading in the first post that the bars were going to be grey.

Very nice the bars look so much nicer in grey than that horrible yellow colour. On most of them the paint was starting to come off.

I see there are warning signs for the door's teeth.
Presumably to discourage people from trying to get on once the doors are closing.

The refurbishment is looking very good. I didn't like just one thing, they could change all seats moquette not just in some places. I expected and also I thought it will be looking more nice with a moquette like that:
