I've often thought Greenford-Ealing Bdy could make a good tram route! I don't think ANY new tunnels should be built to S stock gauge-its far too small IMO to provide proper seating for journeys of any distance-it isn't even suitable for the met mainline!

S-stock is as near as makes no difference to NR loading gauge. I agree no new tunnels should be built to tube gauge, and that tube gauge stock isn't appropriate for the Met mainline.

No offence,
But I hope it doesn't make it to the London Underground map! Its cluttered enough as it is!

If done skillfully it would look all right. But unfortunately they make Crossrail the "Central" line (the one running straight through the city) in the TfL 2025 map, making the Circle line an ugly shape and completely messing the rest!

It's definitely going to be on the tube map - that's the whole point of building it. It's easy to be distracted by the outer bits, but really it is just a new tube line on a slightly larger scale.

I noticed with the new map (Jan 08) they've been messing with the layout. Seems shorter but longer. Think they've expanded the Central part more outwards and contracted in the outer parts.
The current design can't take the current info, a rebuilt is the only choice unless they remove something (with TfL thats very unlikely).

Thanks for clearing that up johnb, I couldn't figure out what metman was trying to say
