"Under Nights Streets" on the BBC over the weekend (on iPlayer at moment for download)?
Was a 1955 BR film about the night shift on the Underground. It showned track work as well as drivers getting to depot (Morden?) and taking the first trains out. Shame it was only 15mins long tho. But was interesting (for me atleast) to see the 1938 stock running.

I find the old BTF (British Transport Films) fascinating. Not only are they good for a bit of nostalgia, but they are great for social and transport history and they all have a great story to tell. There are quite a few commercial DVD/ videos containing some DVD/ video titles. You can buy some of them on DVD from Beulah in their "yesterdays Britain" series. www.eavb.co.uk/video/dvd/ybindex.htmlLondons transport museum also had a few titles such as "The underground story" containing "A hundred years underground" and "Victoria line - Equip and complete" which is the full version, not the shorter version in the Beulah DVD. The last titles in my collection are mainly BR subjects. All are from the BTF archive which are now kept by the BFI. These can be found here: www.bfi.org.uk/booksvideo/video/details/btf/dvd_1.html

Under Night Street's really annoy's me. It is so disjointed. You see the P Way finding and fixing a broken rail at Lambeth North then current being charged at Gants Hill Just in in time for the first train to leave Morden Depot.

One I have and would recommend is "Building London's Victoria Line", it's the complete story from planning to opening.

Fascinating but the "equip and complete" film was extended by 5 mins once the line was opened to Victoria and unfortunately wasn't added to the collection. I love the AFC film at the end too.
