Hi all,
As my status reads, I think that the night tube is a good idea - deep level tube lines like the Northern line are participating for the service. However, does anyone here know why the Bakerloo line and Waterloo & City lines are not participating for the service? Is it because there is not enough money invested to support these tube lines?
Thank you for reading.

Only lines which have been upgraded (signalling, track and trains) are part of night tube - the Bakerloo line is way way way behind the others in the upgrade department.

Bakerloo - shares tracks with NR, notably access to the depot. - Needs a lot of work done so overnight shutdowns likely (also the reason the SSR will come in later). - Nearly all Bakerloo stations in central London also served by other lines, or there is an alternative nearby. - Doesn't actually get you very far into the suburbs.
W&C - doesn't go anywhere useful at night: nothing is going on in the City, and Waterloo mainline station is shut. - Northern and Central via TCR are available for anyone who does need to travel between those two points (or the Jubilee if travelling from the South Bank to the East End) Basically, the Drain is only necessary as a crowd-buster in the peaks (but VERY necessary then!) Very few people would miss it if it closed down in the offpeak.

i would have also imagined the age of the stock may have played a part in this decision (the state of it at least).
Although the piccadily line trains are not really much newer at all and the signalling isnt upgraded there either.

The 72 stock is fairly maintenance heavy as well.
