Just a quick one: On our ATO lines, is Auto able to stop at a Rail Gap Indicator when necessary, or does it have to be done by the T/Op?

On the Central trains in Auto will only stop at signals or block marker boards, if a rail gap indicator is illuminated the TOp would have to use the emergency brake.

TBTC will stop a train at an illuminated rail gap indicator. I believe the Victoria Line also has this capability. Having said that, I got a target point at East Finchley with an illuminated RGI right in front of me. Didn't try and see if the train moved though, so I can't say what would have happened! |

Or alternatively the train simply doesn't budge and nobody is any the wiser, but I wouldn't have risked it either  |
