Good morning all,
I wonder if anyone can help; can anyone please point me to a picture of an S or S2 sign on a platform headwall (or confirm there is no such thing any more). My current source suggest it is a sign telling the Operator how many platform staff are available to assist.

Your source is correct. The number of staff on the platform also determines the actions of the TOp in the event of a detrainment, on the Central Line if an S board is displayed the TOp closes up the front two cars leaving the member of station staff to close the remaining six while an S2 board means that the TOp stays in the cab while the two station staff close up four cars each.
Sorry, no photo.
