I knew Ray very well. First met him at the RTC in 1968 when we were "Victoria Line" training. Then he trained me as a Traffic Controller on the Bakerloo in 1973, and we became good friends thereafter. To cut a long story short, sadly he passed away about ten years ago. Ray had a fantastic (Eric Morecambe style) sense of humour. A grand chap indeed.
