I was getting the train to London over the weekend and around Alley Palley there was a freight train heading north, but pulling a four-carriage Southeastern EMU (not the one from St Pancras but one more likely from say Charing Cross). What was it doing and where was it going?

There has been a long standing programme of overhauls to SE Class 465s and 466s going on at Doncaster. Units are normally transferred from Slade Green to Doncaster and back on Saturdays.
