I just found out TFL have this lovely part on their site for thanking members of staff.
My question being, if a t/ops was going that extra mile for his customers would it be wrong of me to poke my head past the swinging barriers and knock on the door, tell him I want to write a thank you and ask for his employee ID?
The main concern is stepping past the barrier? Would you t/ops be annoyed or happy with someone doing so?
Very weird question but if it was me I would love to recieve a message from the public thanking me.

i dont think it would be a good idea to cross the swinging barrier as it is there for safety reasons. IF you wanted to say a thank you all you really need to say a thank you via the website would be the line, Date, Time, Station you boarded and departed and also the train number which can be seen on the front and the rear. All that information would be able to trace the driver
