brighamI'm unsure whether the agreement for the lines south of Harrow still exists. I doubt the 165s and 168s will be able to squeeze through the tight tunnels between Finchley Road and Baker St. ==== I'm pretty sure LNER/BR locos serviced Met goods yards beyond the Met&GC Joint. I've got the book District Controller's View - Marylebone to Rugby and the controller moans about the poor adhesion properties of the ex-LNER L3s and how they would often get stuck on the Neasden fly-under when returning on a trip to Neasden Power Station (Metropolitan) Sidings. IIRC Met freight workings were handed over to the LNER in 1937? grahamhewettWas this the thread you were thinking of? - www.districtdavesforum.co.uk/thread/19350/freight-on-uxbridge-branch

Hello,
To add my two cents, sorry pence, to the debate, a list I had written about tube lines connexions with the rest of the world. Informations are gathered from either direct observation, or Stephen Knight's diagrams, or Franklin Jarrier's carto-metro site. The idea was to work out how trains (or coaches) could be delivered to (or withdrawn from) the deep lines.
BAKERLOO: QUEEN’S PARK: North of north shed, two connexions, one each way, between Bakerloo line (south to and from Elephant & Castle) and NR Euston to Watford Overground line (north to and from Stonebridge park depot, Harrow on the Hill and Watford junction). Junction and NR line north of it are electrified (4 rails system). These connexions are used to access the depot and were formerly used by Harrow and Watford Bakerloo trains. BAKER STREET: Double connexion, at the end of each platform, between the Bakerloo line (south to Elephant & Castle) and the Jubilee line (North to Stanmore). The connexions use the tracks of the former Bakerloo line branch to Stanmore, now taken over by Jubilee line.
CENTRAL: NEWBURY PARK: Former connexion between Central line (north to and from Hainault) and NR Shenfield line (to and from both Liverpool street and Shenfield). Dismantled since LU took over the Hainault loop. WHITE CITY: Former double track connexion between the Central line (West to and from Acton, Wood lane junction) and the NR West London line (South to and from Olympia, viaduct junction). EALING BROADWAY: Former junctions existed with District line and NR Great Western line. WEST RUISLIP: Connexion from Ruislip depot sidings with a siding to Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines, between Ruislip and Ickenham. Connexion from a Central line siding with a siding to NR High Wycombe line.
JUBILEE: WEMBLEY PARK: Connexions exist both ways between Jubilee up line and Metropolitan up line to allow access to Neasden depot. FINCHLEY ROAD: Connexions existed west of Finchley Road station, between the Jubilee line (to and from Wembley park and the Metropolitan line to and from Baker street. BAKER STREET: see Bakerloo line.
NORTHERN LINE: EUSTON: Single track connexion between Northern city northbound track (connexion going backwards) and the Piccadilly line northbound track between Russell square and Kings cross (connexion also going backwards). This connexion is known as “Kings cross loop”. HIGHGATE: Former connexion with NR at Finsbury park.
PICCADILLY: FINSBURY PARK: Double connexion, south of the platforms, between the Piccadilly line to and from Kings cross and the Victoria line to and from Seven sisters. KINGS CROSS: See Northern line. BARONS COURT: Multiple connexions with District line. Both lines share the same four tracks zone to Acton town. ACTON TOWN: Multiple connexions with District line. Both lines share the same tracks to Ealing. RAYNERS LANE: Connexion to the Metropolitan line. Both lines share the same tracks to Uxbridge. RUISLIP: See Central line.
VICTORIA: SEVEN SISTERS: A temporary link is said to have existed between Northumberland park depot and the NR Liverpool street line for rolling stock delivery. FINSBURY PARK: See Piccadilly line.
WATERLOO & CITY: WATERLOO: Lift connexion to NR Southern region. This lift, able to move one coach at a time, between the underground station and the main line station level, is located in the sidings beyond the platforms.

@sdx - sorry to be pedantic - is this a list of what has existed ( a much longer list than we have here), or what exists now (a much shorter list!)? And shouldn't it include the onward connexions via the surface lines, which could be used to deliver stock? BTW, the Armstrong lift at Waterloo is buried beneath WIT these days and cannot be used. The stock is craned in and out via the shaft in front of the depot by Station Approach.

QUEEN’S PARK: These connexions .....were formerly used by Harrow and Watford Bakerloo trains. As far as I am aware, they are still used by Harrow trains.

norbitonflyer, my mistake: I thought services to Harrow had stopped as those to Watford have! grahamhewett, the answer is... both. I agree the list should be limited to the existing (or very recently removed) links, and not be "polluted" with historical connections, many of them missing! Regarding connections through sub-surface lines, I mentionned the connections to these lines, assuming that the Circle & Hammersmith & City & Metropolitan & District lines consist in one network which is connected to NR. BtW, I had read (but forgotten) something about Waterloo lift having disappeared during Eurostar terminal works. Thank you for reminding me!

Hello, following Graham's remarks (which in no way were "pedantic"), this is the list, amended to what exists now (AFAIK!):
BAKERLOO: QUEEN’S PARK: North of north shed, two connexions, one each way, between Bakerloo line (south to and from Elephant & Castle) and NR Euston to Watford Overground line (north to and from Stonebridge park depot, Harrow on the Hill and Watford junction). Junction and NR line north of it are electrified (4 rails system). These connexions are used to access the depot and by Harrow and formerly Watford Bakerloo trains. BAKER STREET: Double connexion, at the north end of each platform, between the Bakerloo line (south to Elephant & Castle) and the Jubilee line (North to Stanmore). The connexions use the tracks of the former Bakerloo line branch to Stanmore, now taken over by Jubilee line.
CENTRAL: WEST RUISLIP: Two connexions from Ruislip depot sidings : One with a dead-end siding to Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines, between Ruislip and Ickenham; One with the dead-end down-siding to NR High Wycombe line, west o f West Ruislip NR station.
JUBILEE: WEMBLEY PARK: Multiple connexions exist between Jubilee line and Metropolitan line to allow access to Neasden depot. FINCHLEY ROAD: Connexions west of Finchley Road station, between the Jubilee line (to and from Wembley Park) and the Metropolitan line (to and from Baker Street). These connexions are still visible on Google maps, but are marked as “dismantled” on Carto-Metro. (Stephen Knight’s chart indicates that the southbound connection only remains… connected) (A pity my daughter and son in law used to live close to Finchley Rd, and I never stayed in the tube as far as West Hampstead to check!) BAKER STREET: see Bakerloo line.
NORTHERN LINE: KING’S CROSS: Single track connexion between Northern city northbound track (connexion going backwards) and the Piccadilly line northbound track between Russell square and King’s Cross (connexion also going backwards). This connexion is known as “King’s Cross loop”.
PICCADILLY: FINSBURY PARK: Double connexion, south of the platforms, between the Piccadilly line to and from King’s Cross and the Victoria line to and from Seven Sisters.
VICTORIA: FINSBURY PARK: See Piccadilly line.
WATERLOO & CITY: WATERLOO: No more connexion, the former lift having been dismantled due to former Eurostar terminal works. A crane is now used to lift the carriages between the sidings beyond the platforms and the surface.
The conclusion is that all tube lines have at least one connexion with surface lines or NR, but Northern and Victoria which are both connected only through Piccadilly line.
Any comments are welcome.
