(7e) Details of an employee's whereabouts when on duty
Above is rule 7e, and I was wondering, why is this information not allowed to be disclosed when oddly enough, WTTs and Staff Log Books can, and have been gotten through the FoI act despite them being marked as INTERNAL USE ONLY
Many Thanks ELL

Whilst the admins have the final say, I would suggest that the posting of extracts of WTTs and Duty Books would be a breach of Rule 7(f).
The reason, as I understand it, is to prevent people with less than honest intentions from using the forum as a means of identifying where a particular individual is (or is meant to be) at a particular time.

It kinda breaches both 7e and 7f, but I've seen links to the WTTs posted on here which surely shouldn't be allowed, but as you say, and I concur that ultimately, it is the forum staff's decision on what is allowed and what isn't, but if the duty books and WTTs were posted here, it just becomes a more convenient means of accessing the information for the people with less than honest intentions, because lets face it, they'll still find a way to get the information most likely from a FoI request.

Whilst I wasn't Forum Staff at the time, I understand that the rule was introduced when a forum member turned up and demanded a cab ride from a Train Op who is a member here.
I'm sure of the more senior Forum Staff will provide the full background.

FoI requests from TfL additionally come with this copyright statement:
"Any copyright in the material provided with this response is owned by TfL or one of its subsidiary companies unless otherwise stated. The disclosure of information does not give the person or organisation who receives it an automatic right to re-use it in a way that would otherwise infringe copyright (for example, by making copies, publishing it, or issuing copies to the public). Brief extracts of the material may be reproduced under the fair dealing provisions of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1998 (sections 29 and 30) for the purposes of research for non-commercial purposes, private study, criticism, review and news reporting. In respect of use for criticism, review and news reporting, any reproduction must be accompanied by an acknowledgement that TfL or one of its subsidiary companies is the copyright owner."
I believe you will not find links to WTT information on this Forum.
