Can anyone point me in the right direction is there a official site or contact number for buying old LU items, I know someone who is interested in buying a old piece of equipment (they won't tell me what). I saw the thread re A stock but there was no mention of a number or a name.

They should write to customer services - email is OK. However they need to be specific as to what they want. No promises can be given and the response won't necessarily be fast. Also some things just won't be sold.

Depends what you want to buy. For small items try the LT Museum first. I understand that when the A stocks came out, LTM had first call on several parts that had enthusiast interest. The Luggage/hat racks are well known, but they also retrieved some blinds and blind boxes.
At a few recent enthusiast events LTM did have a stall offering a wide range of items. At Amersham on the A stock tour they had a stall (which most of us could get nowhere near!) which had line diagrams, luggage racks, etc for sale. So perhaps keep an eye out for their next event.
Two scrap dealers (Knights Rail (Eastleigh) & Booths (Doncaster)) dealt with the majority of train disposals. Obtaining a cab or large size item would be difficult as both claim there is a LUL/TfL embargo on the resale of former LUL assets. However some smaller items such as footplates did escape onto the enthusiast market.
If you looking for something from an A stock unless it’s a luggage rack then your likely to be out of luck as I believe that the last A stocks sent to Booths & Knights Rail were completely dismantled and disposed of late last year.
And if its station memorabilia your after, then subject to that being available - I would again suggest LTM. When the stations were refurbished back in the late 80s, LTM sold off many of the old station nameplates as they have good resale values. However I suspect there’s very little on the market currently.
Lastly if your really keen you could have certain items manufactured. We are having some interior signs for our offices made by Stocksigns who make LULs signs. They are similar to LULs but for copyright reasons bear a resemblance. The cost for one small door sign is in excess £100.
You can also remanufacture old seat moquettes. Holdsworth have many patterns and can fairly accurately reproduce old designs. The cost is prohibitively high unless you have others who want to share the cost.
Occasionally items pop up on ebay. Be careful as I suggest you ensure the item has been correctly obtained and not stolen from LUL. We had some station nameplates nicked from the west end of Northern line when I worked there. BTP managed to track down the offenders when they offered them for sale.
Happy hunting!

Well the did, then they didnt, but now they are! We get our seat fabrics from them. Bought a load of the yellow & brown (D Stock style) moquette a couple of years ago. Also bought some RT & RM moquette. And I understand someones about to order some moquette for a 10T10. I suspect they could do you some grey for your 62TS. RMC, RMA & RCL is fairly near but not accurate. If you want some of latter I can put you in touch with a chap whos trying to put a bulk order together if you PM me off group. And the link to Holdsworths is: www.holdsworthfabrics.com

Thanks for that, I ought to keep up to date! The red/grey/silver moquette on my 62TS is all fine thanks, plus I've got loads of spare seats and some spare moquette, but I'll PM you anyway.....

And there's always Ebay - some Underground-related items do turn up from time to time. Worth checking occasionally.
