It might, also, be the lack of Newroads?

Indeed it is the lack of NewRoads, which the ReadMe file noted you needed. You can fill the water trough, you can lead the horse there, ...

You can lead a luser to clue, but you can't make him think.

I kept getting the incredibly informative message "Train world initialization failed". This was actually caused by having the "Textured skies" option turned off in advanced graphics options.

Glasgowdriver - sounds like you don't have the MSTS graphic levels turned up. Go into the Options, then Display Settings, then Advanced, then turn up everything - except keep draw distance to maybe 70% or so. Believe me there's a lot of detailed stuff there - you just have to tell MSTS to show it. By default al lot of the settings are very low.
Yell if this doesn't work - but I'd be surprised if so.
EDIT: Just one other thought - which area of the line are you looking at? There's no scenery east of TGN, so if you're looking at ECT...? Try starting Tutorial 1 and tell us what you see...

glasgowdriver - some of the area (Earls Court - Turnham Green i think, but probably wrong) has no scenery. It is just tracks and grass!
Unless I need to fiddle with my settings too...

Richmond box is still definitely open for business. I waved to the signaller on Thursday. V125 didn't do their research on this one.

I downloaded the route - and after a few problems getting it to work (it's not a 'man' thing to read the README! ). Got it working. Looks stunning in the completed areas. I also very much like the senario's in the activities, makes for a more interesting ride. Can't wait for the completed route - this route made me sign up for the UKTS subscription, well worth every penny IMHO on it's own. Thanks to everyone who was involved in creating such a good route.

The Route is brilliant Dr Jimi, completely stunning, reminds me of travelling to Rayners Lane many tiems on the Picc.
My only question is the length of the platforms at Ealing Common, as no matter where i stop the last two doors on the rear DM are beyond the 'no acess barriers' in a D Stock. I've pulled up level with the starter and still the last door was beyond the barrier.
Is this representative of Real Life? As i've only ever been that far North on a Picc not on a District Train. Like i said just a question, the route is fantastic!
Cheers, ~ Matloughe

Cheers, ~ Matloughe Sorry to speak for you Jimi but Jimi gauged the platforms on the length of the CO/CP stock 3 years ago, the D-stock is longer than this, there are plans to extend the platforms.

Trainopd78 - thanks for the confirmation re the RMD box. I did represent it as in-use in the sim. Maybe in the next update I'll add the figure of a waving signaler in the window Luke's exactly right regarding ECM, and there's a similar problem with ACT Pfm 4. Both will be 'fixed in next release' Let's just say I'm a little more knowledgable now than I was 3 years ago. Which may not be saying a lot ;D Central-simon -- thank you sir! I'm currently plotting the Driver's Day Part 2 activities, and I see some 'third-party' activities are already showing up on UKTS (including several from our own Luke). Best, Jimi

Well on the strength of what I saw in here over christmas, I decided to give BVE as rest for a bit, and I went out and got MSTS (brand new copy for only a fiver !). After messing about with that for a day or two I downloaded all the bits and pieces I needed (the mirror site for this is good speedwise Dr Jimi ). Had a couple of problems with the 73 refurb consists files but a quick check on another forum somewheres revealed what was wrong and some quick copying over of files and away it went. Very Impressive Dr Jimi..... I too like the tutorials and the scenarios, and the detail of the scenery and the AI movements is brilliant (even running on my laptop). Great job, and I hope you and your band of advisors/helpers carry on and get it finished one day. frimm

Finally found some time to say thanks to "Team Jimi". All your efforts are certainly well worth it, incredable detail. I also enjoyed reading your "brief history" file, very interesting insight to what you have to go thorugh. You must have the patients of a saint Jimi. Like most of your fans I look forward to futre updates Thanks again Jimi Colin D

Just catching up on all this....
Firstly, it's been a pleasure to give a little help to Jimi on all this and I think the results are stunning - albeit I still haven't had a chance to do the final version!
But - as alluded to by T/Op D78 V125 got their commentary wrong! The first thing I pointed out to Peter Middleton was the error in the commentary about Richmond box; his reply went something like 'b*gger'!
One day I'll tell the story of that filming........

Yes! That'd make an interesting 'sideline' to the V125 version!!!
How well timed RC's narration/comments were about being on time as you enter Errols Court!

Well, all I will say is that despite the planning that had gone into it all, the railway conspired to make it a nightmare. Though I haven't looked at the recording for a while I seem to recall cab shots of me looking at my watch and I *think* we were already about 15 mins down - and it was a bloody hot day - and the film kit started overheating. Maybe that gives a hint?

So, did they, as in V125 production crew, ask for you... or was it just natural you were the chosen one? I gather you didn't enjoy the day much...

I have a feeling that when the discussions were started V125 knew of my association with the DR, and when the matter came to the level of actual production it seemed that it was a natural step to pass it to me..... No - in fairness - the day was great fun, but despite the planning it turned out to be long, hot and very tiring; you have no idea how much kit is used!!! Just trying to get it all on and off is a challenge - let alone setting it up all within timetable slots!

I imagine it was even worse when they did the V125 Central line video!
So, you've got the camera itself, a huge box for all the recording, a microphone, lighting for the tunnel sections, a camera operator and LU operational officials etc, plus no doubt a whole mound of wiring and also those mini cameras recording every possible angle!
Was bad enough when I had ITV Carlton doing the tube tv with me! Unfortunately, they dinnae use the footage!

Dave - good to see you back! I had noticed you looking at your watch a few times! I was thinking either "ooh, here's a dedicated T/Op really pushing to keep to timetable" or "looks like he can't wait for it to be over!". Did you get anything in terms or royalties?! Edit: Doing a Colin here! For the benefot of newer members who werent around and for those there but fancy refreshing their memories, there is a thread about Daves fame here: districtdave.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=publications&action=display&thread=1130974677&page=1
