As some of you may be aware, there have been recurring issues between DB Schenker and the ASLEF union.
UK Railtours have this morning released a statement to customers to update them. (check your inbox/spam if you are on their mailing list!) I thought I'd share the informaiton about current status of trips with other members, in case there are members who are not on their mailing list but have a trip booked.
Below is a list of planned trips from now until the end of the year, and the current position. This information is also in the email sent out to UK Railtours customers, and is provided here in case anyone has not had/is not on their mailing list. "Please do not contact UK railtours directly, as we are already snowed under with rescheduling trips, cancelling trips and issuing refunds.
The Amman Valley Ranger, Saturday 3rd November
This train has been cancelled by DB Schenker. UK Railtours are trying to reschedule the date, and will contact people who have booked if this is successful.
The Worth Valley Wanderer, Saturday 3rd November
This charity train, organised by East Midlands Trains is running. It is not affected by the DB Schenker issues. UK Railtours were only the ticket agents.
The Pennine Panorama, Saturday 10th November
This is now our immediate concern. UK Railtours are working with DB Schenker and another operator to try and enable the trip to go ahead. Tickets have not yet been posted. More information early next week.
The St Nicholas Fayre in York, Saturday 1st December, and The Lincoln Christmas Market, Saturday 8th December
This tour is unaffected, as it is operated by East Midlands Trains, with UK Railtours only the booking agent.
The short haired bumblebee, Saturday 15th December
Carols at Beverley Minster, Saturday 22nd December
The Solent Witness, Friday 28th December
Arrangements are at an advanced stage to transfer there trips to other operators."
