:)Hi all
Planning on doing the tube challenge for Children In Need with my place of work. Were not planning on doing it in the quickest time, were just doing it. A couple of questions:
1. Is it possible to do without leaving the tube network all in one day?
2. Has anyone got a good route we can follow or know how easy it is to plan one ourselves because I'm having great difficulty with this at the moment?
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! kabsonline I once did something similar for Comic Relief On a Saturday, I managed 233 individual stations and visited over 350 stations in total, took 19 and a half hours and it was tiring! The oyster bill was also interesting.... best to get a paper travelcard...

I have come across web sites and a discussion group dedicated to the subject, but can't remember details - time to make friends with Google... Guiness World Records have a set of rules which apply if you want them to take note (and are probably a good starting point if you don't).
I get the impression that the dedicated challengers all have their tricks, which they keep close to their chests - but I think some routes have been published. Starting at the far end of the Met, on the first train, seems common. My understanding is that most do involve leaving the system - bus and foot are AIUI allowable, a friend's car isn't.
And as bigbaddom says, it's not something that Oyster is intended for.
Good luck!

Thanks! kabsonline 1) The fastest times have all been done using a combination of bus, tube, DLR etc. 2) The best times either started or finished at Chesham, owing to the distance. Is geofftech still here, as he'd be an ideal person to ask if he is?

You must arrive at every station, or leave it, using the London Underground. You can travel between stations by walking, or by using any scheduled public transport.
You'll struggle to do it in one traffic day without leaving the system, though I haven't done the sums to confirm or deny this.

In the hope that I'm not breaking a rule of this forum by mentioning another forum, perhaps I could suggest that you have a browse around the Tube Challenge Forum - www.tubeforum.co.uk/forum/You might well be able to gather some useful advice from that forum. There appears in fact to be a Children in Need Day attempt on the full network challenge in the planning stage at the moment! Best of luck with your planned tube challenge attempt!
