I was travelling on the Chiltern Line to Brum recently and noticed on both the SB Met and Jubilee lines just north of Willesden Green a sign. This sign was a black triangle on a white circular background. I also noticed the same sign south of West Ruislip on the NB road.
What does this sign mean?

What about the big black spots on a fluorescent green/yellow background that you see on the mainlines, e.g. at Bushey?

What about the big black spots on a fluorescent green/yellow background that you see on the mainlines, e.g. at Bushey? These are sighting boards for track workers and are not used by drivers. These boards are unique to the WCML and are placed about every 1/4 mile between Bushey and Hemel Hempstead.

Not sure how they are used, but that at least completely blows out my previous hypothesis that they might be related to the overhead supply and where the feeders are. :-) They are rather conspicuous.
