Faulty train at Neasden broke the Met as well - what on earth? Only thing I can think of is that they were trying to get it into Neasden depot and it broken down while crossing the Met tracks.

Yes I'm afraid sometimes trains do get "gapped" if they travel too slow.

Only thing I can think of is that they were trying to get it into Neasden depot and it broken down while crossing the Met tracks. No, the train was in passenger service. Because of the very hot weather yesterday the decision was taken quite early on to detrain the passengers onto the track and walk them to the station. Obviously the Met service had to be suspended as well while this happened.

The cracked rail and gapped train are two totally different incidents.
The cracked rail is exactly what it says on the tin. It was broken on the northbound track between Neasden and Wembley just outside Wembley Park.
The gapped train was just before Neasden Station on the southbound. The reason for the gapped train is not important but the southbound Met had to be suspended as well while it was being dealt with.
